My name is Brian Lobdell and I'm a long time amateur enthusiast, living here in the scenic Pacific Northwest with my wife, our five cats and two dogs. I began my photographic experiences while attending the University of Idaho, where my campus newspaper tenure provided access to many hours in the darkroom developing and printing B&W images from my 35mm film Nikon. Graduating with a journalism degree, I founded a commercial printing company which I sold after nearly 30 years of operation. The printing trade supplied me with valuable hands-on experience with photographs, layouts, composition and graphics - from cropping and retouching, to the printing of four-color separations on large, sheet fed offset printing presses.
Like many others, my photographic passions evolved with the digital "revolution" where I discovered a whole new world to embrace! I upgraded to a Nikon DSLR several years ago, which has provided me with a broad realm of options and techniques to learn and conquer! I'm also immersed in mastering Photoshop, which compliments the digital photo world so well.
I look forward to hearing from any of you who have found your way to my site, be it comments on my work, or discussion of the many aspects found within the photographic environment.
Thanks for stopping by!
Brian
